About

Lesley graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1982 after gaining a Degree with Honours in Design, specialising in Printed Textiles.
After teaching art in a High School for ten years in Scotland , Lesley immigrated to Australia where she has taught adults drawing and silk painting at TAFE Colleges. Lesley is currently teaching art in a private College in the Gold Coast, Queensland.
“I have always loved art since I was very young and was always drawing. Silk painting is one of the most satisfying and exciting art forms that I have worked with and I particularly enjoy the fresh, jewel-like quality of the colours and their transparency when held up to the light, almost like a stained-glass window.
I also enjoy photography, computer graphics, pastel and graphite drawings and my inspiration comes from the abundance of flora and fauna in Australia and my love of cats. We have two adorable cats who ‘own us’ called Domino and Ginger.
My husband & I feed the native birds and possums and as a result, I am very fortunate to be able to get very close to the birds and wildlife with my camera”
