It takes proof dangled before his retinas for Jake Esselstyn to swallow his arrogance and believe what doesn’t exist in his all-knowing western mentality.
Sometimes, ridiculing the native resident of an island you probably didn’t know existed until you landed on it isn’t nice at all. This superior mentality for ‘knowing’ everything just because of a degree or doctorate is such a bad attitude. Where’s humility and the pursuit of possibilities in the unknown? That’s what science is all about.
And btw, the humbled guide should at least get some credit, at least scientifically, for telling these scientists(on high horses) that the bats really existed. Esselstyn DID NOT discover it, he was led to it by the guide who wanted to show proof to the non-beliver who poked fun at him.
It makes you wonder who’s the real idiot.
