An exotic plant you may not have seen before which resembles a bat!

I was kindly invited into a neighbour’s garden the other day who has a passion for orchids. One of the more unusual exotic plants I was lucky enough to see and photograph is a black bat plant (Tacca chantrieri) and I have never seen anything like it before.

I used to see a few hedgehogs when I lived in Scotland but they were always hiding their faces and in the defensive position where all I could see was a mass of mottled spikes. I had no idea they were so cute and this is probably one of the most adorable creatures I have ever seen.
