This has got to be one of the most attractive looking fish I have ever seen and it is called a Mandarinfish. This photograph (which appears in wikipedia) and the others here were taken by Belgian photographer Luc Viatour and his work, I think you will agree, is outstanding. See more on Luc’s website.

These Polish photographers work’ leaves me speechless. The lighting, mood, clarity, colours and composition in their nature shots is out of this world. I can’t find information in English about them unfortunately. Here is a selection of their work and you can see more of this stunning photography here.

What do you mean you’ve run out of Tim Tams?

I couldn’t resist posting this when I saw this cute little rodent - he’s so adorable ….. it’s also a very good photograph which is called “Cookies for the Mouse” [but I've retitled it with an Australian slant] and I don’t know who took it but I saw it at Best Pic Ever.

Free Animal Wallpapers to Download

The National Geographic Site of which I am a huge fan allows photographers to submit photographs to “Your Shot” where 12 photos are chosen each day and displayed in the “Daily Dozen”. Two photographs are then chosen each month from the “Daily Dozen” to be published in the National Geographic Magazine so it is excellent exposure for photographers if you are lucky enough to be selected. They also offer all of the selected “Your Shot” photos to be downloaded as wallpapers and these are a selection from the animals category - quite stunning and all free.

I have featured Tim Flach on my site before but this “award winning photographer was commissioned by PQ Blackwell Publishing in New Zealand to produce a fine art book of equine images. Flach immersed himself in the world of the horse in order to celebrate the animal in visual form. His approach, to the subject is ground-breaking.”

Meet James, the Baby Gorilla with his own Sense of Style

Giles Breton is an avid photographer who was lucky enough to accompany Andy Rouse, world renowned wildlife photographer, on a trip to Rwanda in February this year to see gorillas.

James with the wild tousled hair, was the star of the group who is among the last remaining 700 mountain gorillas in the world.
